Day 5

In the morning, I spent time with Matt and went over how he set's up his daily plan. He does a 5 minute set up for every hour, and he talked about how to manage time so everything stays on schedule. He also showed me his set up on the computer. Also, I learned Matt is one to improv his own things a lot. It's okay to add in your own touch to what you're going to say and have a feel for what you want to say. He doesn't like reading off scripts, but as long as he talks about what he's supposed to, it's cool! I like that idea because it's learning what works best for you.

Tammy and I setting up the sound and recording system on our own.

Also talking to Matt, I asked him question about college, if he didn't have this job where he would, go.. ect.. He told me that he simply couldn't picture himself anywhere else. He loves being here at the station, and enjoys it a lot. It's his life, and he lives it to the fullest. That's what I love hearing. When someone tells me they love their job so much, they can't find a better place. And for Matt, he didn't go to college for what he does, but said if you want a degree there are a few colleges in the broadcasting area you could go to. I enjoyed my morning with Matt and getting to know him even more.

I did the recording of the commercial with my voice and Tammy is editing it with some help from me.

Recording was really easy because we already spent a day doing it with Scott. It's not hard at all to edit and add music to it. It sounds pretty cool for our first attempting to recording a commercial. I really liked being in the studio alone and feel like a real broadcaster.

What our recording looked like in person.
